The new Google Home Speaker redefines interaction through its conversational Gemini for Home assistant. Users can issue multiple commands in one sentence, use logical reasoning, and self-correct mid-sentence, mimicking natural dialogue. On-device processing for noise cancellation, echo suppression, and sound separation ensures clear command recognition and rapid responses without constant cloud reliance.
Beyond its AI, the speaker acts as a powerful smart home hub. It functions as both a Matter controller and a Thread 1.3 border router, enabling local connectivity for diverse smart home devices. This broad compatibility positions it as a central hub within the cross-platform Matter ecosystem, offering flexibility beyond Google-exclusive hardware.
